What you cannot test with RealEye
There are some limitations when using RealEye.
Mobile
The Screen Recording test won't work on mobile devices (smartphones).
RealEye Webcam v3
The RealEye Webcam v3 eye-tracker does not support facial coding (emotion/expression analysis). If your study requires facial coding data, switch to RealEye Webcam v1 in the study settings. V3 also does not support smartphones or tablets as fielding devices — selecting a mobile device while V3 is active will automatically switch to v1.
See RealEye Webcam v1 vs v3 for a full comparison of the two webcam eye-trackers.
Browsers
The RealEye platform works best on Chrome web browser. It won't work on the old version of the Edge browser, it only works on the latest Edge version based on Chromium.
Participants
It’s important to remember that there is a drop-rate (number of participants that failed to take part in the study successfully) and an offset (number of low-quality tests). RealEye is aware of this fact and always orders more participants, so the data it provides to you is without these issues. However, you have to remember that when you use your own participants, you need to take it into account.
